Newcomers will follow the GISD policy for school cancellations and late starts.  If GISD schools are cancelled, the Newcomers meeting will be cancelled.  If the GISD schools are on a late start, we will have our meeting at 10 AM.

Instead of receiving an honorarium, guest speakers choose a charity or nonprofit for our group to give to.  Over the past years, Newcomers has made donations to Hope Alliance, Georgetown Animal Shelter, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Friends of the Georgetown Library, Caring Place, Master Gardener Naturalists, Assistance League of Georgetown, Ride on Center for Kids (ROCK) and Southwestern University.
