Welcome!

This organization has been helping strangers become friends through its wonderful members and activities for 50 years.  Whether you are new to the area or a long-time resident wanting to find a new pastime activity, you will want to check out our calendar, Special Interest Groups, and newsletters that include photos of our general meetings and member activities that will surely get you excited about joining Newcomers. 

Our board has been working through the summer planning programs and activities that should peak your interest.  Our general membership meetings will be held on the 1st Thursday of the month at Wellspring United Methodist Church, 6200 Williams Drive, Georgetown, unless otherwise noted.   Speaker topics will range from historical to current events that you will find both informative and interesting.  We are confident there is something for everyone and you will not be disappointed.    
 
Whether you are joining as a new member or simply renewing, our yearly dues are $35 which covers all the adults in a household.  They can be paid on-line, by postal mail, or at a meeting.  See our membership page for all the details.

Greetings from the Co-Presidents!

This year, Georgetown Newcomers and Friends will be guided by Co-Presidents Mary Dunn and Dorothy Noack. Mary is originally from Chicago but has moved multiple times with her husband of 51 years, Mike, while he served in the Air Force. The Dunns lived in Texas for 8 years in San Antonio, Fort Worth, and Denton. They returned to Chicago in 1983. After 33 years in the frozen North, they decided it was time to return and become Texans by choice. After moving to Georgetown in 2015, the Dunns were invited to join Newcomers by Diane Habas. They are very happy to be living here and meeting new friends.

Dorothy has been married for 51 years to her husband, Jim, also a native Texan from Austin. The Noacks moved to Georgetown in 2017 and were quickly invited to join Newcomers, which they believe has proven to be a blessing!

We, are both very excited about this year and all that is being planned. Again, we are honored to serve as your Co-Presidents and look forward to seeing you soon!
